Job summary

Nordex Group is seeking a Main Component Exchange Technician to join a specialist team responsible for maintaining and upgrading wind turbine components such as gearboxes, generators and main bearings. You will operate on-site across the Nordics, ensuring exchanges are completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

The role requires hands-on wind turbine experience, lifting operations, and proficiency with specialist tooling.

Qualifications

Mechanical, electrical, or technical education required.
Several years of experience working on wind turbines.
Hands-on experience with main component exchanges.
Experience with lifting operations, mobile cranes, and specialist tooling.
Knowledge of hydraulic and electric torque tools.
Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
Comfortable working at heights and in challenging outdoor environments.
A valid EU driver’s license.
Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site, including periods away from home.

Responsibilities

Perform and support main component exchanges on wind turbines.
Conduct lifting operations and ensure safe execution on-site.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during exchanges.
Prepare, maintain, and improve specialized exchange tools and equipment.
Contribute to the development of new procedures, tools, and best practices.
Support planning, reporting, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities.
Promote a strong safety culture and deliver excellent quality standards.
