Job summary

BruntWork is seeking a hybrid role combining commercial estimating and design tasks for residential building projects in the Philippines. You will produce quantity take-offs, develop estimates in ProCalc and Excel, price new builds and renovations, and manage subcontractor pricing and variations.

You will create 3D SketchUp models to support pricing and client presentations, bridging design, procurement, and contract administration with strong attention to detail and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in residential construction estimating.
• Experience with Australian residential standards and pricing conventions.
• Proven ability to produce accurate quantity take-offs from drawings.
• Experience administering subcontractors—agreements, purchase orders, variations, and progress claims.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of margin, budget, and cost control.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and consultant drawings.
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods and buildability.
• Excellent written and verbal English, and confidence dealing directly with contractors and suppliers.
• Exceptional attention to detail and document accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and consultant drawings.
• Build up and maintain estimates in ProCalc and Excel, including labour, materials, plant, preliminaries, and margin.
• Price residential new builds, extensions, renovations, and design-and-construct projects.
• Maintain and update rate libraries, cost databases, and standard inclusions and exclusions.
• Identify scope gaps, ambiguities, and risk items before pricing is issued.
• Package scopes of work and issue trade packages for pricing.
• Source, invite, and follow up subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Administer variations end to end — pricing, documentation, approval, and register maintenance.
• Prepare and process progress claims and reconcile against works completed.
• Produce and maintain 3D models in SketchUp to support pricing, client presentation, and construction.

About the role

This is a hybrid commercial and technical role suited to someone who can estimate and administer residential building work, and who can also produce practical design and 3D visualisation material to support pricing, client presentations, and construction. The role bridges design, estimating, procurement, and contract administration. You will be responsible for quantity take-offs and estimating, obtaining and comparing subcontractor and supplier pricing, administering contracts, variations, purchase orders and progress claims, and coordinating the information required to move projects from quotation into construction.
