Job summary

Far East Industrial Supply & Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced QC/Welding Inspector to ensure welding and fabrication activities conform to approved drawings, procedures, and standards.

The role involves on-site inspection, review of welder qualifications, and coordination with engineers and project teams. Ideal candidates have certified welding inspection credentials, knowledge of WPS/PQR, and familiarity with NDT scheduling and documentation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a QC Inspector/Welding Inspector in construction, fabrication, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of welding inspection, fabrication, and quality control procedures.
• Knowledgeable in WPS, PQR, WPQ/WQT, welding drawings, and applicable welding codes and standards.
• Complete and valid certificates relevant to Welding Inspection/QC.
• Certification in CSWIP, AWS, CWI, or equivalent welding inspection certification is an advantage.
• NDT-related certifications such as VT, PT, MT, UT, or equivalent are an advantage.
• Able to inspect stainless steel and carbon steel welding works.
• Good understanding of welding defects, acceptance criteria, and inspection procedures.
• Willing to be assigned to a construction/industrial project site
• Capable of working in a construction/industrial environment

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding and fabrication activities at the construction/project site
• Monitor welding works to ensure compliance with approved WPS, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes/standards
• Conduct visual inspection of welds and identify welding defects or non-conformities
• Check materials, fit-up, joint preparation, welding parameters, and workmanship prior to and during welding activities
• Review and verify welder qualifications and applicable WQT/WPQ records
• Coordinate with welders, Foremen, QC personnel, Engineers, and project management regarding quality requirements
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, welding inspection records, checklists, and other quality documentation
• Assist in coordinating required NDT/NDE activities and review applicable inspection results and reports
• Monitor corrective actions for identified welding defects or non-conformities
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of welding and inspection activities
