Job summary

Far East Industrial Supply & Co., Inc. is seeking a QC Inspector / Welding Inspector in Metro Manila to support industrial, mechanical, piping, tank, or equipment installation projects.

The role covers welding inspection, fit-up inspection, visual inspection, and review of welding documentation. Ideal candidates hold a BS Mechanical Engineering or Welding Technology and have hands-on experience with welding inspection, NDT interpretation, and related codes such as ASME and AWS.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering or Welding Technology or related technical degree.
• Experience as QC Inspector / Welding Inspector in industrial projects.
• Knowledge of welding inspection, fit-up inspection, visual inspection.
• Familiar with ASME Section IX, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, or project standards.
• Able to read engineering drawings, welding symbols, P&IDs, isometrics, and specifications.
• Proficient in preparing inspection reports and QC documentation.

• Verify material traceability and compliance with applicable welding codes and standards
• Interpret and review NDT reports and NDT methods

• Prepare inspection reports and QC documentation
• Coordinate with site personnel, subcontractors, and project engineers
• Identify quality issues before they affect succeeding activities
• Comply with all project-site safety requirements

Key responsibilities

• Conduct welding inspection, fit-up inspection, and visual inspection
• Review and interpret WPS, PQR, WPQ/WQT, ITP, and welding reports

• Read and understand engineering drawings, welding symbols, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and specifications

About you

• Graduate of BS Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Metallurgical Engineering, or related technical course
• Proven experience as a QC Inspector / Welding Inspector, preferably in industrial, mechanical, piping, tank, or equipment installation projects
• Knowledgeable in welding inspection, fit-up inspection, visual inspection, and basic welding processes
• Knowledgeable in applicable welding codes and standards such as ASME Section IX, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, or project-specified standards
• Familiar with NDT methods and interpretation/review of NDT reports
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings, welding symbols, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and specifications
• Proficient in preparing inspection reports and QC documentation
• Computer literate; knowledge of MS Word and Excel is an advantage
• Detail-oriented, systematic, and able to identify quality issues
• Good communication and coordination skills with site personnel, subcontractors, and project engineers
