Job summary

Waklu Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to provide operational and administrative support in the day-to-day activities of the pharmacy.

You will assist in receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, packing, labeling, and preparation of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will maintain accurate records, verify prescriptions, and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements while communicating professionally with patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and pack customer, pharmacy, and/or client orders based on approved prescriptions, picking lists, sales orders, or delivery documents, verifying product names, quantities, batch numbers, and expiration dates
  • Receive medications and pharmaceutical products, check against purchase orders and delivery receipts, and record incoming items with proper documentation of quantities, batch/lot numbers, and expiration dates
  • Inspect products for visible damage, leakage, broken packaging, or irregularities and store medications in designated locations under appropriate storage conditions
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of prescription medications and medical products, regularly check inventory levels, and conduct physical inventory counts
  • Prepare labels for prescription medications under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring labels contain correct information and count pills, tablets, or capsules accurately
  • Monitor the prescription-filling process to ensure established pharmacy procedures are followed and perform appropriate checks before presenting completed prescriptions to the pharmacist for verification
  • Assist in obtaining and verifying prescription-related information from healthcare providers and clients, and communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare or facilitate requests for additional medications based on established inventory levels and assist in monitoring stock levels to ensure adequate availability
  • Maintain accurate and updated electronic client information required for shipment, delivery, and order processing, and protect confidential client and prescription information
  • Support implementation and monitoring of pharmacy-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure assigned activities are performed in accordance with approved SOPs and regulatory requirements

About the role

The Pharmacy Assistant provides operational and administrative support in the day-to-day activities of the pharmacy. The role is primarily responsible for assisting in the receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, packing, labeling, and preparation of medications and medical products under the supervision and direction of a licensed pharmacist.

The Pharmacy Assistant ensures that pharmacy operations are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulations, company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and instructions from the Regulatory and Pharmacy Departments.

  • Ability to work under the supervision and direction of a licensed pharmacist

  • Ability to accurately pick, pack, and verify medications and medical products

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and conduct inventory counts

  • Ability to handle medications and pharmaceutical products carefully and responsibly

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient, client, prescription, inventory, and company information

  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with patients, healthcare providers, delivery personnel, and other stakeholders

  • Ability to refer medical, clinical, dosage, or therapeutic questions to the licensed pharmacist or appropriate healthcare professional

  • Willingness to attend required training and development programs

  • Ability to observe all company policies, pharmacy procedures, safety rules, and regulatory requirements

  • Ability to perform other duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be assigned by the immediate supervisor, Pharmacist-in-Charge, or Management
