Qualifications

• Prior U.S. tax preparation experience required.
• Working knowledge of individual (1040) and small business return preparation.
• Comfort reviewing tax documents and entering data accurately.
• Understanding of basic bookkeeping concepts.
• Ability to research tax questions and work through unfamiliar issues.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual (1040) and small business tax returns for final review before filing.
• Review incoming client tax documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Enter tax data accurately into Intuit ProConnect Tax Online.
• Identify and flag missing documents, forms, or information needed to complete a return.
• Prepare returns involving Schedule C businesses, S corporations (1120S), and K-1s.
• Handle multi-state return preparation where applicable.
• Apply depreciation schedules and basic bookkeeping concepts to return preparation.
• Research tax questions as they arise and elevate anything unclear.
• Communicate promptly when figures, documents, or client information do not look right.
• Maintain organized records and support the workflow through to final review
