You will review client tax documents, enter information accurately into tax software, identify missing items, and prepare returns for final review before filing. Prepare individual (1040) and small business tax returns for final review before filing
Review incoming client tax documents for completeness and accuracy
Enter tax data accurately into Intuit ProConnect Tax Online
Identify and flag missing documents, forms, or information needed to complete a return
Prepare returns involving Schedule C businesses, S corporations (1120S), and K-1s
Handle multi-state return preparation where applicable
Apply depreciation schedules and basic bookkeeping concepts to return preparation
Research tax questions as they arise and elevate anything unclear
Communicate promptly when figures, documents, or client information do not look right
Maintain organized records and support the workflow through to final review
Prior U.S. tax preparation experience
Working knowledge of individual (1040) and small business return preparation
Comfort reviewing tax documents and entering data with a high degree of accuracy
Understanding of basic bookkeeping concepts
Ability to research tax questions and work through unfamiliar issues
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
Strong communication skills, especially in raising discrepancies early
Willingness to learn and adapt to established review processes
Hands-on experience with Intuit ProConnect Tax Online
Experience with Schedule C businesses, S corporations and 1120S filings
Experience preparing and interpreting K-1s
Multi-state return experience
Familiarity with depreciation schedules and fixed asset tracking
Experience supporting a CPA, EA, or tax practice
Ability to manage multiple returns simultaneously during peak periods
