The AVS Sr. Retail Vendor Specialist is a strategic leader within Amazon's Vendor Services team, managing complex vendor relationships and driving transformational growth initiatives. This role requires advanced expertise across all five AVS pillars and the ability to navigate challenging business situations while developing innovative solutions. The position combines deep business acumen with strategic thinking to accelerate vendor growth, enhance operational excellence, and influence program development across multiple categories or business groups. You'll help Amazon create the Earth's greatest shopping experience – a store featuring more products and brands with the most compelling content compared to any other online or offline store.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage complex vendor portfolios (cross-GL, large catalogs, multiple brands) requiring sophisticated business strategies
  • Independently develop and execute comprehensive Joint Business Plans that drive significant business impact
  • Monitor and analyze vendor performance metrics, providing regular insights and recommendations for long term growth
  • Lead insightful analyses to identify patterns and opportunities across vendor portfolios
  • Create innovative approaches to accelerate vendor growth and overcome complex business challenges

As a Sr. Retail Vendor Specialist at Amazon, you function as an experienced startup CEO within Amazon Retail Mexico, driving strategic growth and innovation in your industry sub-segment using Amazon's enterprise tools and systems. Your responsibilities encompass high-level strategic planning through market trend analysis and customer insights, developing comprehensive business strategies including assortment planning and pricing optimization, and leading sophisticated vendor relationships through strategic business reviews and complex negotiations. You'll pioneer AI agentic solutions to revolutionize customer experience and business operations, design automated workflows for inventory management and demand forecasting, and lead cross-functional initiatives across Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations teams. Your role includes presenting category performance to senior leadership, managing P&L responsibility, setting targets, and ensuring both short-term performance goals and long-term strategic objectives are met while driving process improvements and mentoring team members in retail strategy and customer‑centric decision making, continuously growing as a professional by developing new skills and taking on more complex work as you deliver results.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and implementing strategic initiatives
  • Experience in Retail, FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), or a client/vendor-facing environment such as sales or negotiation
  • Experience owning end-to-end account or business performance outcomes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of doing one of several roles: management consulting, investment banking analyst/associate, or brand manager role at leading consumer packaged goods company experience
  • Experience in financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, marketing, business development, consulting, negotiation or supply chain
