Job summary

The Back Room Limited is seeking a detail-oriented US Bookkeeper based in the Philippines to manage day-to-day financial transactions for a US-based client, ensuring accurate records and timely reporting. You will handle AP/AR, reconciliations, GL maintenance, and month-end close, using QuickBooks Online or Xero, with night-shift hours aligned to US business times, and assist with budgeting and tax prep.

At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience and familiarity with US GAAP are preferred;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Familiarity with US bookkeeping practices and basic accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including income, expenses, and journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections monitoring.
• Perform regular bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.
• Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other business expenses.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor outstanding invoices, customer payments, and vendor balances.
• Maintain organized financial documentation, including receipts, invoices, and payment records.
• Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and cash flow monitoring.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Support tax preparation by maintaining accurate and complete financial documentation.
• Ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Coordinate with the client or accounting team to address bookkeeping concerns and provide financial updates.
