Job summary

Qualifications

UNDERBAR ASSOCIATE — FOUR-MONTH CONTRACT

Valerio & Associates Law Offices is looking for a recent Philippine Bar examinee who wants practical training and hands-on experience in a law firm while awaiting admission to the Bar.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, for a fixed four-month contractual engagement.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Work closely with the firm's lawyers on active matters, develop your legal research and drafting skills, and learn how cases and client work are handled in practice. There may be an opportunity to join the firm after the engagement, subject to performance, admission to the Bar, and the firm's needs. Continued engagement or absorption is not guaranteed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Conduct legal research and prepare case briefs, research memoranda, and analyses for review.
• Prepare drafts of pleadings, motions, affidavits, contracts, and correspondence under a lawyer's supervision.
• Help review records and evidence, prepare case chronologies, and organize files and supporting documents.
• Assist the firm's lawyers with hearing preparation, client meetings, and case follow-up.
• Help track deadlines and coordinate filings and other case requirements as directed.

All legal work will be assigned, supervised, and reviewed by the firm's lawyers. This role does not include signing pleadings as counsel, independently representing clients or appearing as counsel, or performing acts reserved for admitted lawyers.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a duly recognized Philippine law school.
• Someone who has recently taken the Philippine Bar Examinations and has not yet been admitted to the Bar.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with careful attention to detail.
• Professionalism, discretion with confidential information, and willingness to learn from feedback.
• Availability to work full-time on-site for the four-month term.
