Job summary

AJA Law seeks an Underbar Associate in the Philippines who has completed law school and taken the September 2026 Philippine Bar Examinations, awaiting results, to begin gaining practical legal experience.

The role offers exposure to corporate, litigation, regulatory, advisory and other client matters; you will work under supervision of a duly admitted lawyer, assisting in research, drafting, and client coordination while developing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist in legal research, drafting, and preparation of pleadings, contracts, affidavits, memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Support client meetings, case preparation, and matter coordination.
• Help monitor deadlines, filings, compliances, and other matter requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, courts, government agencies, counterparties, co-counsel, and third-party consultants.
• Review and coordinate work with legal assistants and other support personnel.
• Assist in hearings, conferences, negotiations, and other legal proceedings as permitted.
• Prepare internal updates and reports on assigned matters.
• Contribute to improving workflows, systems, and internal processes where appropriate.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of legal work, including corporate, litigation, regulatory, advisory, and other client matters. The Underbar Associate will work closely with partners, senior associates, and legal assistants, and will perform legal work under the supervision of a duly admitted lawyer.

What You'll Do

• Assist in legal research, drafting, and preparation of pleadings, contracts, affidavits, memoranda, and other legal documents
• Support client meetings, case preparation, and matter coordination
• Help monitor deadlines, filings, compliances, and other matter requirements
• Coordinate with clients, courts, government agencies, counterparties, co-counsel, and third-party consultants

All legal work will be performed subject to the supervision of a duly admitted lawyer and the limitations applicable before admission to the Philippine Bar.

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from an accredited law school
• Must have taken the September 2026 Philippine Bar Examinations and be awaiting the results
• Prior law firm or legal work experience is welcome but not required
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
