Job summary

vamasters, Inc. is seeking an experienced Truck Dispatcher to manage the full dispatch cycle for our US-based trucking operations.

You will source profitable loads on DAT/Truckstop, negotiate rates, book loads, verify pickup and delivery, handle paperwork, and pursue timely payments while keeping drivers focused on the road. Strong communication and numbers skills are essential; prior experience with US load boards and freight invoicing is required.

Responsibilities

• Field and manage inbound broker calls for the driver.

• Verify rate confirmations and handle BOLs/PODs.
• Prepare carrier packets and broker setup paperwork.
• Collect and organize post-delivery paperwork (BOLs, PODs).
• Prepare and issue invoices promptly after delivery and follow up for payment.

Job Summary: We're on the lookout for an experienced Truck Dispatcher to handle the complete dispatch cycle for our trucking operation, from sourcing and negotiating profitable loads to making sure every delivery gets paid. You'll serve as the primary contact for brokers, taking on calls and paperwork so our driver can keep his focus on the road. The right candidate is a self-assured negotiator with strong phone skills, a sharp eye for numbers, and practical experience with US load boards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Find loads on load boards such as DAT and Truckstop.com to keep the truck steadily booked
• Assess lane profitability by working out rate per mile, deadhead, fuel costs, and next-load potential before booking
• Negotiate with brokers to lock in the strongest possible pay on each load
• Book loads and verify pickup and delivery details with brokers and shippers
• Field and manage inbound broker calls for the driver while he is on the road
• Make check calls and monitor loads in transit, giving brokers timely status updates
• Check rate confirmations for accuracy before sign-off, and handle BOLs and other load documents
• Fill out carrier packets and broker setup paperwork
• Gather and organize post-delivery paperwork, including signed BOLs and PODs
• Prepare and issue invoices right after delivery and follow up to secure timely payment

Mandatory Skills:

• Demonstrated experience as a truck dispatcher for US carriers
• Practical experience with load boards such as DAT or Truckstop.com
• Strong skills negotiating rates with freight brokers
• Ability to work out rate per mile and assess lane profitability, including deadhead and fuel costs
• Solid knowledge of rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and carrier packets
• Excellent spoken English and confidence on live phone calls with brokers
• Background in load tracking, check calls, and freight invoicing
• Dependable, detail-focused, and capable of working independently
• Clear communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions fast

Preferred Skills:

• Background dispatching for owner-operators or small fleets
• Familiarity with factoring companies and how their submissions work
• Experience with broker credit checks and carrier onboarding platforms
• Basic grasp of Hours of Service (HOS) rules and trip planning
• Working knowledge of invoicing tools such as QuickBooks or comparable software
• Capacity to juggle several tasks and priorities under time pressure
