Job Objective
A Debt Management Supervisor oversees a team responsible for managing and administering the company’s organization debt portfolio.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the debt management team, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Manage the organization’s overall debt portfolio, monitor outstanding debt for refunding opportunities, and compare debt ratios to those of comparable issuers.
- Manage the issuance of the organization’s debt and debt‑related instruments, including seeking authorization, determining structure and method of sale, and preparing disclosure documents.
- Ensure timely payment of principal and interest on outstanding debt, prepare and monitor scheduled debt payments, and administer transactions related to compliance with federal arbitrage rules.
- Ensure collectors follow all protocols, laws, and regulations to collect payments efficiently.
- Prepare and present regular reports to management, analyze data and generate reports.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate collections staff, conduct performance reviews, and implement process improvements.
- Develop and manage relationships with municipal bond market participants and other agencies.
- Review delinquent accounts and take timely action to reduce collection risk and maximize total collections.
Qualifications / Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in debt management and strong analytical skills to assess credit reports and financial statements.
- Graduate of a Finance‑related program.
- Can prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, meet deadlines, and minimize risks.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
