Job Summary
The Product Development Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and improving travel products and services that meet market demand and support business growth. This role focuses on creating competitive tour packages, negotiating with suppliers, analyzing travel trends, and ensuring profitable and high‑quality offerings for customers.
Product Planning & Development
- Develop and launch new travel products such as tour packages, holiday bundles, and customized itineraries
- Enhance existing travel products to improve customer satisfaction and profitability
- Ensure products align with brand standards, target markets, and company objectives
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify travel trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings
- Analyze customer feedback, sales data, and performance metrics to refine products
- Monitor emerging destinations and tourism innovations
- Negotiate rates and contracts with airlines, hotels, transport providers, tour operators, and other vendors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international partners
- Ensure supplier compliance with service quality and safety standards
- Create pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profit margins
- Monitor costs, mark‑ups, and profitability for each product
- Coordinate with finance and sales teams on pricing approvals and promotions
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Service teams
- Provide product training and updates to sales staff
- Support marketing campaigns by supplying product details, itineraries, and unique selling points (USPs)
Quality Control & Risk Management
- Ensure all travel products comply with legal, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Manage risks related to suppliers, destinations, and customer experience
- Resolve product-related issues and recommend process improvements
Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Business, or related field
- At least 3-5 years experience in travel product development, tour operations, or travel management
- Experience in supplier negotiation and package costing is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of the travel and tourism industry
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS Office and travel booking or reservation systems
