Job Description

The Transport Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring trucking operations to ensure the timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of freight from origin to destination. This role works closely with truck drivers, trucking companies, customers, warehouse teams, freight forwarders, and internal operations staff to ensure smooth daily transportation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily trucking and delivery schedules based on customer and shipment requirements.
• Assign trucks, drivers, and transportation providers to scheduled shipments.
• Monitor truck movements and shipment status from pickup through delivery.
• Coordinate with drivers and trucking partners regarding pickup and delivery instructions.
• Ensure trucks arrive at designated locations within scheduled time windows.
• Track and update shipment information, including truck details, driver information, pickup times, delivery times, and proof of delivery.
• Communicate delays, route issues, vehicle breakdowns, or other transportation concerns to the appropriate parties.
• Coordinate with warehouses, ports, terminals, customers, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth cargo handling.
• Prepare and maintain trucking documents, delivery receipts, trip tickets, gate passes, and other required records.
• Verify completed deliveries and collect proof of delivery (POD) and other supporting documents.
• Monitor trucking costs, trip expenses, and transportation-related charges.
• Coordinate with third-party trucking companies and evaluate service performance.
• Assist in resolving delivery discrepancies, cargo issues, and customer concerns.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in transportation management systems, spreadsheets, or company databases.
• Prepare daily and periodic trucking activity reports.
• Ensure compliance with company transportation procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Perform other logistics and transportation-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Candidates with relevant trucking, dispatching, or freight logistics experience may also be considered.

Experience

• At least 1-2 years of experience in trucking coordination, dispatching, freight logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
• Experience coordinating with truck drivers, trucking companies, warehouses, ports, or freight forwarders is an advantage.
• Experience in handling delivery schedules and shipment tracking is preferred.
