Role Overview
The Training & Development Officer supports the planning, development, and implementation of employee learning programs. The role coordinates training activities, assists with learning content development and facilitation, maintains training records and systems, and works with different teams to address capability development needs.
Responsibilities
Training Needs & Planning
- Support the identification of training and development needs through surveys, interviews, and coordination with business units.
- Consolidate learning requirements and help identify employee skill gaps.
- Assist in developing training plans and learning schedules.
- Maintain the training calendar and monitor program rollouts.
Learning Program Development
- Assist in creating training materials, modules, presentations, and other learning resources.
- Support instructional design and keep learning content current and organized.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to gather and incorporate relevant content.
- Ensure training materials remain aligned with established learning standards.
Training Delivery & Coordination
- Coordinate training logistics, including venues, virtual platforms, materials, attendance, and participant communications.
- Provide administrative and facilitation support during training sessions.
- Facilitate selected training programs when appropriate, such as onboarding and basic or soft-skills sessions.
- Monitor participant attendance, engagement, and completion.
- Help ensure the smooth delivery of both face-to-face and virtual learning activities.
Vendor & Resource Management
- Coordinate with external trainers, facilitators, and training providers.
- Assist with vendor documentation, scheduling, and other requirements.
- Monitor the delivery of external training services and collect participant feedback.
- Track training-related expenses and support budget monitoring.
Learning Evaluation & Reporting
- Administer post-training evaluations, assessments, and feedback surveys.
- Monitor training metrics such as attendance, completion, and assessment results.
- Prepare training reports and summaries for review.
- Keep learning records and supporting documentation accurate and updated.
Stakeholder & LMS Coordination
- Coordinate with department heads, line managers, and HR partners regarding training schedules and participant nominations.
- Communicate training information, reminders, and post-training requirements to participants.
- Respond to participant questions and assist in resolving training-related concerns.
- Maintain training information and records within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Support the monitoring of mandatory and compliance-related learning programs.
Continuous Improvement
- Gather feedback on learning programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay informed on relevant learning tools, approaches, and technologies.
- Support initiatives that encourage continuous employee development.
- Help improve training processes and administrative workflows.
HR & Organizational Development Support
- Assist in organizing corporate learning events and activities.
- Support Organizational Development initiatives and employee development programs.
- Participate in HR projects related to employee engagement and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in Training, Learning & Development, or HR.
- Experience supporting training coordination, facilitation, or instructional activities is preferred.
- Knowledge of training needs analysis and learning program coordination.
- Background in training content development and instructional design support.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and other learning tools.
- Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Good organizational and data-tracking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of professionalism and accountability.
- Adaptable and willing to learn new tools, processes, and approaches.
