About the Role

We are looking for Trainee WAS Engineers who have studied or been trained in CMS platforms, WordPress, PHP (CodeIgniter, Laravel, OpenCart) or the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js). You will help maintain and manage client websites alongside experienced engineers, learning how real websites are kept fast, secure and available. This role suits someone genuinely interested in web technologies who wants to grow quickly in a hands-on support environment.

Key Responsibilities

1.Learning & Hands-on Support

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining client websites across CMS, WordPress, PHP and MERN Stack platforms.
• Support the team in resolving CMS, PHP framework and MERN application issues.
• Help diagnose API integration and database problems under guidance.
• Assist in optimizing website performance, speed and security using established practices.

2.Training & Development

• Take part in structured training and gain hands-on experience with real client websites.
• Learn and apply security practices — WordPress hardening, PHP vulnerability mitigation, secure APIs.
• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing sessions and technical discussions.

3.Website Maintenance & Support

• Monitor and maintain client websites, keeping them available and performing.
• Perform routine updates, backups and security checks; keep everything patched and current.
• Protect uptime — troubleshoot issues as they arise and implement fixes promptly.

4.Security & Technical Troubleshooting

• Debug problems across server configuration, database performance and site functionality.
• Apply security best practices, including secure API integration, authentication and authorization.
• Implement SSL, SMTP email configuration and other protective measures.

5.Client Interaction & Issue Resolution

• Work with the client support team to address technical queries and concerns.
• Understand client requirements and implement enhancements accordingly.
• Document and track recurring issues so troubleshooting gets faster over time.

6.Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Coordinate with developers, designers and stakeholders to deliver on time.
• Take part in code reviews and internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Stay current with emerging web technologies and modern development practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Knowledge of, or training in, CMS (WordPress, OpenCart), PHP (CodeIgniter, Laravel) or MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with website hosting, cPanel, database management or cloud platforms is an advantage.
• A genuine appetite to learn and to be coached across more than one web technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Mathematics or a related field — or a completed certification program, boot camp or serious self-taught track record in web development.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and RESTful APIs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with real attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical points clearly.
• Ability to manage several pieces of work at once in a fast-paced support environment.
