We are looking for an experienced Traffic Management Designer (TMD Level 3) who can also take responsibility for weekend emergency operations support. This role combines technical design expertise with real-time problem-solving, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both planning and fast-paced, urgent situations.
The work schedule follows a 5-day workweek, including Saturday and Sunday plus three weekdays.
Prepare and review traffic management designs to Level 3 standards
Handle emergency operational calls on weekends, assessing situations, escalating as needed, and providing confident guidance to field staff
Collaborate with clients, councils, and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of urgent and planned designs
Ensure all designs meet Austroads, AS1742, and local authority compliance requirements
Maintain accurate records and clear communication between stakeholders
Our client is a Queensland-based service provider specializing in traffic control, vacuum excavation, and labour hire services. They work across various sectors, including major infrastructure, council projects, commercial sites, and residential developments. Excellent verbal English with a professional and confident phone manner
Proven experience in traffic management design at Level 3
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure
Ability to stay calm and authoritative during emergency situations
Availability to cover weekend operations as part of the regular roster
