Job Overview
The Trade Marketing Specialist/Sr Specialist is responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies that strengthen Wonder Maker Group's presence across modern trade, general trade, drugstores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and specialty retail channels. This role drives in-store excellence by building strategic retail partnerships, optimizing product visibility, and executing high-impact merchandising and promotional initiatives that accelerate sales growth.
Working closely with Brand, Marketing, Supply Chain, E-Commerce, and Operations teams, the Trade Marketing Lead ensures that every retail touchpoint reflects the company's brand standards while maximizing commercial performance and customer engagement.
Job Responsibilities
Trade Marketing Strategy
- Develop and execute trade marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, brand priorities, and sales targets.
- Create annual trade marketing plans, promotional calendars, and channel-specific initiatives to maximize retail performance.
- Identify new opportunities to expand brand presence across key retail channels and trade partners.
Retail Partnership & Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail accounts including Watsons, Mercury Drug, SM, Robinsons, supermarkets, convenience stores, department stores, and specialty retailers.
- Lead negotiations for product listings, shelf placements, promotional displays, and in-store visibility.
- Collaborate with retail partners to execute joint business plans and maximize category growth.
Merchandising & In-Store Execution
- Plan and implement in-store campaigns, merchandising standards, activations, and point-of-sale materials.
- Ensure products achieve optimal shelf placement, visibility, and brand presentation across all retail outlets.
- Conduct regular store visits and trade audits to monitor execution quality and identify improvement opportunities.
Campaign & Product Launch Execution
- Support new product launches by coordinating retail listings, promotional rollouts, merchandising requirements, and in-store activations.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Brand teams to execute integrated campaigns across retail channels.
- Ensure campaign execution aligns with inventory availability and operational readiness.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis
- Monitor sell-through, sales performance, promotional ROI, market share, and retail execution metrics.
- Analyze campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase sales and profitability.
- Prepare regular reports and business reviews for management and retail partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Brand, E-Commerce, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of trade initiatives.
- Coordinate inventory planning, promotional forecasting, and operational readiness for campaigns.
- Support strategic planning through market insights, competitive analysis, and retailer feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in Trade Marketing, Category Management, Key Account Management, or Commercial Marketing within the FMCG, Beauty, Personal Care, Retail, or Consumer Goods industry.
- Proven experience managing major retail accounts such as Watsons, Mercury Drug, SM, Robinsons, Southstar Drug, supermarkets, convenience stores, and specialty retailers.
- Strong experience executing in-store marketing campaigns, product launches, merchandising programs, and promotional activations.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating retail partnerships, display agreements, promotional support, and commercial initiatives.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, shopper marketing, merchandising principles, and trade marketing analytics.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales performance, sell-through reports, ROI, and market trends.
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Willing to conduct regular fieldwork, store visits, retail audits, and meetings with trade partners.
- Experience in startup, high-growth, or multi-brand organizations is highly preferred.
