Job summary

WESTCON GROUP PHILIPPINES seeks a Trade Compliance Team Lead to manage day-to-day trade compliance execution and ensure adherence to global standards. The role focuses on prioritizing work, guiding analysts, and coordinating with regional teams and regulatory bodies for licensing and compliance.

You will act as the critical link between execution and governance, maintaining performance targets while upholding compliance integrity across import/export activities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a trade/compliance or logistics environment.
• Ability to coach analysts and conduct regular quality reviews.
• Strong understanding of import/export laws and regulatory requirements.

Role Purpose

The Trade Compliance Team Lead is responsible for day-to-day operational control of trade compliance execution within assigned workstreams. This role ensures work is prioritized correctly, decisions are applied consistently, and analysts are supported, coached, and escalated appropriately.

The Team Lead is the critical control layer between execution and governance, ensuring performance targets are met without compromising compliance integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Control & Execution

• o Own daily queue health, prioritization, and workload balancing
• o Ensure screening, block releases, and escalations are processed within SLA
• o Act as first-level escalation for analyst decisions and judgement calls
• o Ensure correct routing of medium- and high-risk cases
• o Working with the regional teams to ensure compliance with import and export laws governing international and domestic shipments
• o Liaise with Customs and government bodies for licensing
• o Perform any ad-hoc reporting or additional duties as assigned

Quality Assurance & Consistency

• o Review decisions to ensure consistent application of global standards
• o Identify decision drift, rework patterns, and quality gaps
• o Enforce documentation and evidence requirements for audit readiness

People Leadership & Capability

• o Coach and develop analysts across tiers
• o Conduct regular quality reviews and performance check-ins
• o Support capability progression from Tier 1 → Tier 2 → Senior

Continuous Improvement

• o Identify recurring issues and propose process or data improvements
• o Escalate systemic issues to the Operations? Manager with clear root cause
• o Support implementation of process and automation changes
