Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Test Engineer for an onsite, dayshift role in Taguig. You will design, develop, and execute test plans and scripts, performing manual and automated testing to ensure product quality and reliability.

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, track defects, and participate in regression, system, and integration testing as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field.
• Proven experience in software testing or QA roles.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.
• Experience writing clear test documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Your Role

As a Test Engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and technical requirements.
• Perform manual and/or automated testing to ensure product quality, performance, and reliability.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using defect tracking tools.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Participate in regression, system, integration, and user acceptance testing as required.

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software testing or quality assurance roles.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices.
• Experience in writing clear and comprehensive test documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, or similar).
• Basic understanding of programming or scripting languages.
• Experience testing web-based, mobile, or enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
