Job summary

AMCS Group in Cebu City, Philippines, seeks a hands-on Technical Team Lead to guide an established team of AMCS-experienced developers. You will combine technical judgement with coaching and cultural awareness to operate within our global engineering organisation.

You will lead 3–5 AI-enabled squads, own end-to-end delivery, mentor colleagues and ensure a speak-up culture across time zones. Strong C#/.NET and modern web app experience are essential.

Qualifications

Proven line leadership of software engineers with coaching, development and performance management.
Strong technical judgement with recent hands-on experience in C#/.NET and modern web apps.
Production experience with AI-assisted engineering and evolving tooling.
Clear written and spoken English; able to explain decisions and risks to varied stakeholders.

You will combine sound technical judgement and strong opinions about high-quality software with the communication, coaching and cultural awareness needed to operate effectively in our global engineering organisation.

Your mission

Strengthen an established Cebu engineering team delivering through 3–5 squads of each two developers. You will lead the team with full line‑management, hands‑on technical and end‑to‑end delivery accountability. You will model and nurture a speak‑up culture and address issues before they become critical.

What you will do

Team and cultural leadership

Line-manage a team of developers across 3–5 small, AI‑enabled squads, covering, objectives, feedback, development, performance and team health.
Build on the team's product knowledge and strengthen its integration with AMCS’s global engineering organisation.
Lead a speak‑up culture: invite challenge, include quieter voices and respond to risks and mistakes with action and accountability instead of blame.
Build trusted relationships with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Support and engineering stakeholders. Communicate clearly across cultures and levels.
Make mentoring, pairing, knowledge sharing and handovers routine across skill levels, locations and time zones.

Ownership and delivery accountability

Own commitments from refinement through production. Confirm scope, readiness and capacity before accepting dates.
Surface delivery, quality, capacity and collaboration risks early; resolve them or elevate with options and a recommendation.
Keep stakeholders informed of progress, decisions and dependencies. Set clear owners and follow through to customer outcomes.
Join the P1 on‑call rota, including scheduled out‑of‑hours response, and improve handovers, incident learning and corrective‑action follow‑through.

Technical and AI‑led engineering leadership

Stay hands‑on in complex delivery, design and investigation across C#, .NET, Angular, TypeScript, SignalR and SQL, without becoming the bottleneck.
Drive an AI- and automation‑first mindset and advance the AI‑SDLC across specification, design, implementation, testing, review and incident learning.
Keep pace with available AI tools, turn useful capabilities into team practices and show gains in quality, flow, maintainability or time to confidence.
Own technical debt, observability, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment and rollback, with human accountability for production outcomes.

Quality, product and operational excellence

Make quality an end‑to‑end team responsibility, using clean design, reviews, automation and risk‑based testing.
Work with Product, Architecture, QA and DevOps to shape clear, testable and technically ready work tied to customer outcomes.
Grow understanding of waste and recycling operations, transport planning, optimisation and mobile execution.
Use telemetry, customer feedback, support insight and incidents to improve the product and team practices.

The Cebu squads operate as one accountable group, integrated into global technical, product and delivery decisions.
Commitments are realistic, risks surface early, stakeholders stay informed and owners follow through.

What you bring

Essential

Proven line leadership of software engineers, including coaching, development, performance management and difficult conversations.
Strong technical judgement and recent hands‑on experience with C#/.NET and modern web applications.
Production experience with AI‑assisted engineering and evidence of improving the approach as tools evolved.
Clear written and spoken English; able to build trust and explain decisions, risks and complex topics to varied stakeholders.
Proactive ownership, early problem‑solving, constructive challenge and accountability without blame.
Ownership of delivery and quality through production, including CI/CD, testing, observability and operational response.

Desirable

Leadership experience in an international, distributed or multicultural engineering team.
Experience with Angular, TypeScript, SignalR, SQL Server, Microsoft cloud and distributed SaaS systems.
Experience with specification‑first development, context engineering and reusable AI‑supported workflows.
Knowledge of waste, recycling, transport planning, route optimisation or a similar operational domain; relevant degree or equivalent experience.
