Akari Lighting & Technology Corporation in Manila is seeking a Technical Support Manager to lead the Technical Support Department, focusing on electrical systems, lighting, and troubleshooting. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• REE license highly preferred.
• 5+ years in technical support, electrical engineering or building systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations and lighting.
• Working knowledge of MEPF systems and building services.
• Ability to read electrical plans, drawings, specs and schematics.
• Proven troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading or managing a technical/engineering team.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Willing to conduct site visits and field work.
• Proficient in MS Office and relevant engineering software.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and project management.

We are looking for a Technical Support Manager who will lead and oversee the company’s technical support operations, with a strong focus on electrical systems, lighting, and technical troubleshooting. The role requires an experienced technical professional who can provide sound engineering guidance, manage technical concerns, and ensure efficient coordination across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building-related systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong electrical-focused technical leader with broad knowledge of MEPF systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage both technical teams and project concerns.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and oversee the daily operations of the Technical Support Department.

Provide technical leadership and expert guidance, particularly on electrical systems, lighting systems, and related applications.

Review and resolve complex technical issues involving electrical installations, equipment, lighting products, and systems.

Provide technical consultation and support to internal teams, customers, contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.

Oversee troubleshooting, inspection, testing, commissioning, and resolution of technical concerns.

Review technical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, electrical plans, and other relevant project documents.

Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Project Management, and other departments to resolve technical concerns.

Ensure proper investigation, documentation, reporting, and closure of technical issues.

Provide technical recommendations and identify appropriate solutions based on project requirements, standards, and best practices.

Oversee technical site visits, inspections, and project support when necessary.

Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and engineering practices.

Maintain working knowledge of MEPF systems, including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and related building systems.

Develop and implement technical support procedures, standards, and troubleshooting guidelines.

Lead, coach, and develop members of the Technical Support team.

Monitor departmental performance, workload, response time, and resolution of technical concerns.

Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and other management reports as required.

Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and other technical partners when necessary.

Stay updated on new technologies, products, industry standards, and technical developments relevant to the business.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering field.

Licensed Electrical Engineer (REE) is highly preferred.

With at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in technical support, electrical engineering, building systems, construction, lighting, or related industries.

Strong knowledge and hands‑on understanding of electrical systems, electrical installations, and lighting systems.

Working knowledge of MEPF systems, including Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and other building systems.

Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Experience in leading or managing a technical/engineering team.

Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Able to handle multiple technical concerns and projects simultaneously.

Willing to conduct site visits and field work when required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant engineering/technical software.

Strong leadership, decision‑making, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in LED lighting, lighting systems, electrical products, or electrical distribution is an advantage.

Familiarity with Philippine electrical standards and applicable building codes.

Knowledge of testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and technical documentation.

Experience working with contractors, consultants, developers, and project teams is a plus.
