Job summary

Philmetal Products, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Service Engineer to support the Sales Division with accurate and timely technical services.

You will interpret plans, sketches, and measurements, and prepare cutting lists and job orders to ensure smooth production flow. This role involves processing contract amendments, providing technical assistance to Sales, and maintaining clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1+ years in technical writing or technical support within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear documentation.
• Proficient with software tools for technical writing and document management.
• Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD or CAD software.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Adaptable to changing production processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, measurements, and specifications to prepare accurate cutting lists and job orders.
• Price, label, verify, and process job orders based on contracts and specifications.
• Prepare amendments and variation worksheets for changes and contract adjustments.
• Coordinate hardware requirements, raw materials, and plant assignments for project orders.
• Monitor lump sum contract balances and prepare completion and clean-up reports.
• Provide technical support to the Sales Division and conduct project site inspections when required.
• Ensure accurate documentation, safekeeping, and backup of production and project files.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly analytical Technical Service Engineer to support the Sales Division in delivering accurate and timely technical services. The role is responsible for interpreting plans, sketches, and measurements, preparing cutting lists and job orders, processing contract amendments, and providing technical assistance to Sales.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring that production outputs conform to design standards while maintaining cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, measurements, and project specifications to prepare accurate cutting lists and job orders.

• Price, label, verify, and process job orders based on sales contracts and agreed specifications.

• Prepare amendments and variation worksheets for changes, additional orders, and contract adjustments.

• Coordinate hardware requirements, raw material requests, and plant assignments for project orders.

• Monitor lump sum contract balances and prepare completion and clean-up reports.

• Provide technical support to the Sales Division and conduct project site inspections when required.

• Ensure accurate documentation, safekeeping, and backup of production and project files.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior.
