Job summary

OSW Group seeks a skilled Pre-Sales Engineer to support residential and C&I rooftop solar projects. You will design PV systems, size energy storage, and prepare BOMs, using AutoCAD and SketchUp. Coordinate with sales and operations to ensure accurate proposals and compliant designs.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience in Solar Industry specifically for Solar Rooftop, residential and C&I.
• Technical Engineer with experience as Pre-Sales Engineer
• A Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) with knowledge of PV sizing, BOM prep and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to sales during pre-sales for rooftop solar projects.
• Assess site conditions, energy use and customer requirements to recommend PV solutions.
• Design and size PV and energy storage systems with necessary calculations.
• Prepare design drawings and LODs using AutoCAD, SketchUp and other tools.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and coordinate with sales/ops on availability and alternatives.
• Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards and utility requirements.
• Assist with post-sale technical inquiries, installation guidance and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to product knowledge training for sales teams and customers.
• Maintain accurate technical data in CRM and coordinate with Country Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Technical Support and System Design

• Provide technical support to the sales team and customers during the pre-sales stage of residential and C&I rooftop solar projects.
• Assess customer requirements, site conditions and energy consumption to recommend suitable solar PV solutions.
• Design and size solar PV and energy storage systems, including the required technical calculations.
• Prepare design drawings, layouts and single-line diagrams using AutoCAD, SketchUp and other design tools.

Bill of Materials and Quotation Support

• Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) using products from the OSW range.
• Coordinate with the sales and operations teams on product availability and suitable alternatives.
• Support quotations and technical proposals, including estimated savings and payback.

Standards and Compliance

• Ensure system designs and recommended products comply with applicable local codes, standards and utility requirements.
• Keep up to date with relevant government regulations and industry programmes, such as net metering.
• Prepare the technical documents required for permits and utility applications.

After-Sales Technical Support

• Assist customers and the sales team with technical inquiries, installation guidance and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with manufacturers on warranty claims and technical escalations.

Training Support and Product Knowledge

• Conduct technical training support for the sales team and customers.
• Participate in product evaluation and testing, and stay updated on solar PV technology and new products.

Documentation and Collaboration

• Maintain accurate technical and product information in the CRM and other company systems.
• Work closely with the Country Manager/Line Manager and other OSW teams, and report on key technical matters.
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Country Manager.
