American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Development Manager in Manila to lead a development team, ensure alignment with business goals, and collaborate with stakeholders across product, security, and vendor teams. You will drive agile delivery and maintain technical documentation.

The role emphasizes leadership in Java environments, strong analytical skills, and experience with travel distribution systems.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of development management in a Java environment.
• Experience with agile lifecycle management and project management.
• Familiarity with scalable system architecture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of automated and manual testing techniques.
• Knowledge of travel distribution systems (GDS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development team for one of the verticals in the team.
• Support the delivery and lifecycle of technology and ensure alignment with business goals and customer needs.
• Partner with business unit customers, Product Managers and support staff, Security & Risk management, external clients and vendors to deliver the functionalities of the specific product area assigned to you.
• Project manage the development of products, business-centric SLAs and support client needs.
• Coordinate with Product, engineering, and vendor teams to size product needs and lead development and deliver product.
• Create and maintain comprehensive Technical process documentation.
• Maintain strong relationship with stakeholders, vendors, and operational support teams to ensure products receive excellent support as needed, to resolve product lead issues.
• Define and supervise performance metrics for products.
• Work in an Agile Environment and support the developers assigned in your team
