Job summary

Amex GBT Manila is seeking a JAVA Software Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications that support travel services and business operations.

You will migrate legacy systems to modern Java environments, integrate with vendor APIs, and ensure quality through testing and documentation. The role offers collaborative, inclusive culture and opportunities to work across teams in a global travel technology environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience with Java in enterprise environments and API integrations.
• Familiarity with modernizing legacy systems and working with vendor APIs.

Responsibilities

• Programming & Support: Perform complex programming tasks for legacy system modernization into a Java environment.
• System Migration: Migrate legacy applications to updated platforms, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and maximizing system uptime.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose, isolate, and resolve software issues, monitor system capacity, and ensure applications’ connectivity to vendor APIs.
• Documentation & Standards: Create software documentation and architecture diagrams. Adhere to development standards and security requirements.

Job Position Overview: The JAVA Software Developer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications that support our travel services and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming & Support: Perform complex programming tasks for legacy system modernization into an Java environment.
• System Migration: Migrate legacy applications to updated platforms, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and maximizing system uptime.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose, isolate, and resolve software issues, monitor system capacity, and ensure applications’ connectivity to vendor APIs.
• Documentation & Standards: Create software documentation and architecture diagrams. Adhere to development standards and security requirements.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for applications using Java, C#, jQuery, AJAX, React, and SQL Server.
• Use Visual Studio 2019/2022 for development, ensuring compatibility with major web browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
• Add functionality to streamline backend processes and improve system efficiency.
• Execute disaster recovery procedures and provide Tier 2 technical support.
• Collaborate to define system specifications, design architecture, perform testing, and document all source code.
