Job summary

Ascension Advisory Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Technical Chemist to join a well-established oleochemicals supplier.

The role covers customer technical servicing, manufacturing technical support and business development, with a focus on translating product specifications into market-ready formulations. The position is based in Pasir Panjang, Singapore, with frequent travel to Indonesia. A minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry and at least 3 years in a technical oleochemicals role are required to

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical role within the Oleochemicals or derivatives industry.
• Experience with downstream exposure and product development processes is preferred.
• Willingness to travel frequently to Indonesia; role based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Customer Technical Servicing guidance on product and process technical requirements.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure customer tech requirements are met on time.
• Provide technical advice on specifications, applications and quality to customers, Sales, and Supply Chain.
• Support manufacturing technical tasks to transfer formulas/specifications into manufacturing processes.

• Position: Technical Chemist
• Well Established Oleochemicals Supplier MNC
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday (9am - 6pm)
• Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $6,000 + AWS + Variable Bonus
• Working Location: Pasir Panjang

Main Responsibilities:

Customer Technical Servicing

• Provide day-to-day support and guidance on all product and process technical requirements.
• Participate in regular cross-functional meetings to ensure that customer technical requirements are met on time.
• Provide technical advice (e.g., product specifications, applications, quality) to customers, Sales, and the Supply Chain team.
• Manage customer-specific and new product specification requests.
• Answer customer technical questionnaires.

Manufacturing Technical Support

• Provide technical support by working with manufacturing plants in cross-functional teams to assist with process and quality improvements, troubleshooting, and complaint resolution.
• Ensure that technology and quality standards for new and revised formulas/specifications are successfully transferred into manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical expertise to the Engineering department to ensure new projects and plant modifications align with customer expectations and requirements.

Business Development

• Supporting new business opportunities/assessment for currently marketed products as well as for new products framed in the oleochemical industry.
• Participate in the process of analysis and evaluation of new investment projects.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical role within the Oleochemicals or derivatives industry.
• Technical experience within the Oleochemicals or derivatives industry, preferably with downstream exposure, familiarity with application development processes that convert basic oleochemical derivatives into finished, market-ready formulations.
• This position is based in Singapore, with frequent business travel required to Indonesia.
