Nidec Motor Philippines Corporation is seeking a Tariff Specialist in Metro Manila to analyze tariff and duty impacts, identify cost savings, ensure trade compliance, and provide data-driven recommendations. The role supports sourcing, supply chain decisions, and regulatory risk reduction.
The candidate will use Excel, Power BI, and ERP tools to monitor tariff exposure, duty spends, and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining audit-ready records and enabling timely regulatory updates.
The Tariff Specialist is responsible for analyzing tariff and duty impacts, identifying cost savings opportunities, ensuring trade compliance, and providing data-driven recommendations that support sourcing, supply chain, and business decisions while minimizing duty exposure and regulatory risk.
Analyze duty rates, tariff impacts, and changes in global trade policies.
Assess duty exposure for current customers.
Lead and support duty mitigation initiatives, including customer billback analysis and recovery programs.
Provide recommendations to minimize tariff-related costs while ensuring compliance.
Support qualification reviews related to U.S. tariff programs and evolving trade regulations.
Work with the team to Validate country of origin determinations in accordance with applicable trade rules.
Maintain audit-ready records to support trade compliance and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor:
Tariff exposure
Duty spends
Cost savings initiatives
Regulatory and trade policy changes
rends, risks, opportunities
Bachelor’s Degree in: Supply Chain Management, Trade Compliance, Logistics, Finance
With 2+ years of relevant experience
Experience working with import/export data
Exposure to US provisional tariffs, duty drawbacks, FTAs, and customs compliance programs
Tariff classification (HTSUS knowledge)
Proficient and analytical skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP), Power BI for dashboard creation, data mining, trend analysis, forecasting, financial modeling, KPI development, and executive reporting.
Knowledge in Power Query, Power Pivot, Power Automate is a plus
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred), trade management systems, database integrity management, automated reporting tools, AI-assisted analytics, and large import/export datasets.
Good communication skills
Amenable to work on graveyard shift
