Job summary

RemoteVA is seeking a detail-oriented Takeoff Specialist to join the team on a full-time basis (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST). The role focuses on performing accurate quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings, supporting cost estimation, and ensuring precise documentation for bids.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, generating material/labor/equipment takeoffs, and using PlanSwift/Bluebeam/AutoCAD to produce reliable calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in quantity takeoffs, estimation, or related construction roles.
• Experience with digital takeoff software and interpretation of architectural/engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Utilize digital takeoff software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) to generate accurate calculations.
• Prepare cost estimates and maintain organized takeoff records.
• Collaborate with estimators, engineers, and project managers to validate takeoff results.
• Identify discrepancies or omissions in plans and communicate findings promptly.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
• Support bid preparation and provide input for project budgets.
