Job summary

Phil-Data Business Systems, Inc. in the Philippines is seeking a System Administrator to install, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Servers, deploy VMware vSphere, and manage storage and backup systems.

You will harden security, automate tasks with PowerShell, document configurations, and contribute to system design and continuous improvement. A strong LAN/WAN background, Cisco/VLAN expertise, and Windows Server skills are essential. Weekend/holiday shifts required.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in LAN/WAN design and implementation.
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, AD, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with VMware environments and backup/storage solutions.
• Ability to document configurations and produce technical documentation.

• Ensure system security through hardening, scanning, and patching.

About the role

System Administrator role responsible for installing, administering, and troubleshooting Windows Servers and related services. You will deploy and configure VMware vSphere environments, manage storage and backup systems, ensure system security, and automate tasks using scripting. You will collaborate on system design, implementation, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Install, administer, and troubleshoot Windows Servers (2016, 2019, 2022) and related services (AD, DNS, DHCP)
• Deploy, configure, and support VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS)
• Manage and maintain storage and backup systems (Dell, EMC, SAN, Dell DPS, Rubrik)
• Ensure system security through hardening, scanning, and patching
• Automate tasks using scripting (PowerShell) and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
• Collaborate on system design, implementation, and continuous improvement

About you

• Strong background in LAN design and implementation
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, Cisco switching/routing (VLAN, Trunk, VRF, VSS, StackWise), VPNs (IPSEC, SSL), and routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IP Multicasting)
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Aruba appliances
• Knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi‑Fi standards and wired mediums (CAT6, fiber optics)
• Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and High Availability
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to produce detailed technical documentation
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Team-oriented, proactive, and self-motivating
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Willing to work on shifting schedule, including weekends and holidays
