Job summary

Sii Poland seeks an experienced System-Level Modeling Engineer with SystemC and embedded software expertise to model, validate, and optimize silicon components. You will lead model and firmware development, collaborate with hardware and software architects, and mentor junior engineers in a multinational, hybrid work setup.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++ and SystemC skills, OS knowledge, and eagerness to relocate to Poland with Sii support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C or C++, with SystemC and low-level hardware interfacing.
• Solid understanding of OS concepts: drivers, memory management, bootloaders, scheduling; strong debugging skills.
• Ability to translate ambitious goals into concrete requirements, architectures, APIs and delivery plans.
• Experience with SystemC simulators (Virtualizer, Helium) and scripting languages (Python/PowerShell).
• Track record of shipped firmware/embedded software, preferably pre-silicon.
• Knowledge in drivers/DMA/PCIe/NVMe or related domains.
• Willingness to relocate to Poland with Sii support.
• Communicative proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement models and validation firmware/software for silicon components (e.g., boot ROMs, PCIe, USB).
• Lead the technical development of models, firmware, and embedded software.
• Collaborate with hardware/software architects to define specifications and ensure integration.
• Mentor junior engineers in software design and firmware development.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure high quality and maintainability.
• Drive debugging and optimization for performance and reliability.
• Provide clear technical documentation for models, APIs, and workflows.
• Work in a diverse team and contribute to a collaborative environment.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical challenges to stakeholders.
