POSITION SUMMARY

The Systems Engineer is responsible for providing day-to-day management, capacity planning, performance optimization, incident resolution, and overall support for Windows and Linux systems, including systems running on the platform.
This position is an escalation point for critical core gaming systems and related outages. Provides assistance and monitoring across all IT projects using or interfacing with Windows and Linux platforms and ensures that work outcomes are delivering the most effective and robust to-run business applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setups, maintains and monitors of high availability of servers

• Closely work with production support team in setting up testing environments, review of test plans and test cases, investigation of technical issues raised

• Provide capacity planning of database server hardware resources

• Ensure all server issues are addressed within a service level agreement (SLA)

• Suggests and implements process and systems improvement

• Work closely with the network team on company security policy

• Creates and monitors backup strategy

• Provides patch management on servers

• Daily monitors system logs and provides root cause analysis of errors

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• At least five (5) years of career experience handling hundreds of servers and databases in a 24/7 environment.

• Experience installing, configuring, and administering Windows and Linux Servers.

• Experience in performance monitoring and hardware optimization

• Experience and exposure to different Cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, and Azure).

• Experience in designing and implementing Virtualization technologies is a plus, such as VMWare and Nutanix.

• Experience handling storage solutions and SAN fabrics is a plus.

• Relevant experience with other Microsoft Technologies and System Center Platforms (e.g. Exchange, SCOM, DPM, and other monitoring tools).

• Successful implementation of Infrastructure roll-out, upgrades, administration, and decommission.

• Successfully implemented different high-availability solutions, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
