Job summary

Pioneer Adhesives Inc. is seeking a proactive Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier audits, drive SCAR processes, and ensure materials meet strict quality standards across the supply base.

You will collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing to qualify new suppliers, perform root-cause analyses, and shepherd corrective actions from initiation to closure, safeguarding product quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
• 3–5 years in supplier quality/quality engineering within manufacturing.
• Hands-on supplier audits and SCAR management experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 or similar and RCA methods (8D/5 Whys).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

I. Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is a critical role responsible for ensuring that all supplied materials, components, and services meet our company's stringent quality and compliance standards. This individual will serve as the primary quality liaison with our supply base, employing a proactive approach to manage supplier performance, drive continuous improvement, and mitigate supply chain risks. The SQE plays a vital role in protecting our product quality and ensuring customer satisfaction.

II. Roles and Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute comprehensiveSupplier Auditsto evaluate supplier capabilities, quality systems, and compliance to specifications and regulatory requirements.
• LeadSupplier Managementactivities, including performance monitoring, scorecard generation, and performance evaluation to foster collaborative partnerships for quality improvement.
• Drive theSupplier Corrective Action Request (CAR)process from initiation to closure. This includes containing non-conformances, performing root cause analysis, verifying corrective actions, and validating their effectiveness to prevent recurrence.
• Lead thoroughSupplier-Related Complaint Investigationsfor issues originating from supplied materials. Analyze defects, determine impact on production and customer quality, and work directly with the supplier to resolve.
• Maintain detailed documentation for all supplier quality interactions, including audit reports, SCARs, performance data, and qualification records.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to qualify new suppliers and approve new components.

III. Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supplier quality, quality engineering, or procurement quality role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven, hands‑on experience in conducting supplier audits and managing the supplier corrective action (SCAR) process.
• Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or similar) and root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships and influence stakeholders both internally and externally.

IV. Preferred Skills

• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) certification.
• Experience with statistical analysis software and techniques (e.g., Minitab, SPC).
• Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals).
• Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM).
• Proficiency in a second language relevant to the supply base (English, Chinese,)
