Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Quality Engineer to coordinate supplier quality across PCBA and Final Assembly operations in manufacturing environments. You will drive corrective actions, participate in audits, and promote continuous improvement with customers and suppliers.

You will implement quality processes, lead audits, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with specifications and standards, delivering measurable quality performance and supplier excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering tools and methodologies, including statistical process control, process capability studies, Gage R&R, Control Plans, and PFMEA.
  • Hands-on experience with Supplier APQP and PPAP processes.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and commodities within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits, assessments, and supplier development activities.
  • Working knowledge of Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) principles and quality management best practices.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and systems, including the 7 QC Tools, 8D problem-solving methodology, and SAP.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate openly, professionally, and transparently while building productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and diverse team environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier performance management activities, including monitoring and reporting key metrics such as DMR, DPPM, raw material quality incidents, supplier qualification, supplier development initiatives, and annual SSA and QPA.
  • Deliver training, coaching, and ongoing support to suppliers on quality management tools, methodologies, and compliance requirements, including SSA, QPA, PPAP, EQMS, and SEM.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing sites to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement standardized quality processes that enhance supplier performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as the SQE lead for PROLaunch NPD/STP projects, ensuring effective supplier engagement and PPAP execution.
  • Collect, analyze, monitor, and report supplier performance data and quality metrics; identify trends and develop improvement plans.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement programs through data-driven decision-making and collaborative problem solving.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure sustainable improvements.
  • Support quality audits, inspections, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to product specifications, process requirements, and quality standards.
  • Work with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to address quality concerns promptly, contributing to customer satisfaction and business success.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, quality excellence, and accountability throughout supply chain and manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do

This role supports manufacturing operations by coordinating quality assurance activities across processes and products, ensuring compliance with established specifications, standards, and customer requirements. The position is responsible for supporting quality performance across PCBA and Final Assembly operations, driving supplier quality excellence, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote continuous improvement. The Quality Engineer also partners with customers and suppliers to address quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and enhance overall satisfaction and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier performance management activities, including monitoring and reporting key metrics such as Defective Material Reports (DMR), Defective Parts Per Million (DPPM), raw material quality incidents, supplier qualification, supplier development initiatives, and annual Supplier System Assessments (SSA) and Quality Process Audits (QPA).
  • Deliver training, coaching, and ongoing support to suppliers on quality management tools, methodologies, and compliance requirements, including SSA, QPA, PPAP, EQMS, and SEM.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing sites to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement standardized quality processes that enhance supplier performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) lead for PROLaunch NPD/STP projects, ensuring effective supplier engagement and successful execution of PPAP requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, monitor, and report supplier performance data and quality metrics. Identify trends, evaluate results, and develop improvement plans and corrective actions to address performance gaps and support organizational objectives.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement programs through data-driven decision-making, proactive risk management, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure sustainable improvements.
  • Support quality audits, inspections, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to product specifications, process requirements, and organizational quality standards.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to address and resolve quality concerns in a timely and effective manner, contributing to customer satisfaction and long-term business success.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with relevant experience in manufacturing environments; experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines is preferred.
