Job summary

Cohu, Inc. in the Philippines seeks a Quality Assurance professional to drive continuous improvement, maintain ISO 9001:2015 conformity, and lead audits across QA, supplier, and customer interfaces.

You will implement corrective actions, lead cross-functional CI projects, and partner with purchasing, production and engineering to ensure product quality and compliance with MSA/SPC standards, while upholding health and safety commitments.

Responsibilities

• Drives continuous improvement and zero-defect culture, and 6-sigma across QA, PQE, SQ, CQ, and internal/external audits.
• Maintains QMS per ISO 9001:2015 with customer document/data control.
• Develops strategies to meet company goals and objectives.
• Implements corrective/preventive actions to prevent defects in manufacturing.
• Leads cross-functional teams on CI programs using statistical tools and 8D.
• Improves supplier quality index and supplier programs; maintains Approved Suppliers List.
• Drives Six Sigma, DMAIC, LEAN, SPC, FMEA, and related tools.
• Monitors defects/failure rates and ensures corrective actions are tracked.
• Coordinates and analyzes QC reports, recommending resolutions.
• Collaborates with purchasing, planning, production, assembly, and engineering to resolve issues.
• Audits/accredits suppliers for quality standards (MSA, SPC).
• Coordinates quality activities; aligns with other departments to meet expectations.
• Manages strategic quality improvement projects.
• Ensures measures protect health, safety, and environment.
• Upholds integrity and high ethical standards in business.

Job description

1. Drives continuous improvement programs, zero defect quality culture, and 6-sigma through QA Engineering department function, Product Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality, and Internal/External Audits.

2. Maintains the established Quality Management System in concordance to ISO 9001:2015 requirements and based on customers’ document and data control.

3. Develops strategy to ensure company defined goals and objectives are met.

4. Implements a corrective/preventive action program which will prevent reoccurrences of quality defects in the manufacturing process.

5. Implements Continual Improvement Program using Statistical analysis, 8D and other tools by leading effective cross-functional teams to handle significant improvement projects.

6. Develops/improves supplier quality index, supplier improvement programs, utilizing statistical control programs, to assure that only qualified vendors are retained and updated on Approved Suppliers List.

7. Drive 6-Sigma, DMAIC, LEAN, Statistical tools, JMP, SPC, Control Plan, 5S and FMEA

8. Implements system to monitor the defects and failure rates and ensures that corrective action plans are initiated and monitored.

9. Coordinates, produces, and analyzes quality control reports and recommends resolutions.

10. Collaborates with purchasing, production planning, production, assembly, and engineering to resolve quality issues.

11. Accredits suppliers and other outsourcing partners to ensure compliance with quality and process standards, such as MSA and SPC.

12. Coordinates and implements quality-related activities. Work with other departments to ensure all expectations are clearly understood, agreed upon and met.

13. Manages strategic quality improvement projects.

14. Responsible in assuring that appropriate measures are in place which have a direct impact to the Health and Safety of the employees and protection of the environment.

15. Responsible in demonstrating integrity in its business dealings with people & organizations and should operate consistently to the corporate's highest ethical standards.
