OceanaGold invites applications for a Superintendent – Project Management (Electrical Projects) at the Didipio mine on Luzon Island, Philippines. The role oversees all major electrical projects from initiation to close-out, coordinating engineering and estimation inputs, risk management, and project controls.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in heavy industry project delivery, a BOE degree in electrical engineering, and a PRC license with PE status.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in project delivery within heavy industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (required)
• Registered Electrical Engineer with a valid PRC license (required)
• Professional Electrical Engineer (required)
• Project management qualifications (desirable)
• Amenable to 2-year fixed term

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence in the field whilst on-site by completing Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) and/or Task Observations with direct reports and peers from the Project Development and Construction teams
• Provide coaching and mentoring to the Electrical Project Engineers and Construction Coordinators in the completion of CCVs and drive accountability for meeting time-in-field safety commitments
• Establish and maintain systems that ensure that design works for active projects are carried out using the appropriate risk management tools including FRA’s, HAZOP’s, CHAZOP’s, SIL Studies, Design and Constructability Reviews.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the Electrical Project team, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
• Assist the Manager – Capital Projects in identifying resource skills and opportunities within the Electrical Project team and act as the liaison between these resources
• Create an environment of collaboration between Electrical Project Engineers and the Engineering and Construction teams to support delivery of project goals and establish and maintain systems that foster cross-functional collaboration
• Establish and maintain systems that ensure project documentation is prepared for all phases of project delivery including Concept Studies, User Requirement Specifications (URS), Scope of Work (SoW) and Project Execution Plan (PEP)
• Accountable for the establishment of interface meetings with operational departments to ensure interactions associated with projects under management are identified and managed.
• Accountable for ensuring that projects under management are completed to the required specifications
• Undertake a program of continuous improvement across all areas of accountability

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Superintendent – Project Management (Electrical Projects) (2-year fixed term) to directly manage the delivery of all major electrical projects in the Capital Projects Department Portfolio from initiation to close-out, including coordination of engineering, design and estimation inputs, preparation of project management documentation, identification and management of project risks, provision of schedule and cost performance data to project controls, timely resolution of emerging risks and issues during project delivery and completion of all quality control / assurance and project close-out documentation. The role will report to the Manager - Capital Projects.
