OceanaGold Corporation is seeking a Coordinator—Construction for the Didipio mine in the Philippines. This 3-year fixed-term role will mentor and monitor construction work groups, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate activities to meet scope, schedule, and budget.

The position reports to the Construction Superintendent. Key tasks include promoting safety, resource liaison, schedule/estimate development, design review, and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project construction experience.
• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Underground experience is not required, but construction experience is essential.
• Experience with machine commissioning and testing with electrical aspects.
• Formal training or qualifications in MS Project desirable.
• Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work in a mining environment with physical demands.
• Must be amenable to a 3-year fixed term.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety, health, and environmental awareness on site.
• Assist Construction Superintendent in resource identification and liaison.
• Participate in Schedule and Estimate development for Capital Works.
• Monitor site activities and report progress and non-conformances.
• Ensure costs, POs, and approvals are in place before work.
• Maintain daily records and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking asuitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Coordinator—Construction ( 3 ‑year fixed term), who will mentor and monitor construction work groups to ensure compliance with Didipio Operation’s HSE Policies and Procedures, coordinate site construction activities to minimize their effect on Operations, ensure construction activities are completed to scope, on time and within budget and ensure project reporting is carried out as per the requirements of the Construction Superintendent. This role will report to the Superintendent—Construction.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Promote safety health &environmental awareness in order to prevent injuries and/ordamage
• Assist the Construction Superintendent in identifying resource skills and opportunities within the Construction team to execute tasks and act as the liaison with these resources to initiate and manage the Capital works being undertaken
• Participate in Schedule and Estimate development for CapitalWorks.
• Participate in the design review process, focusing on implementation and constructability issues
• Monitor site activities and report progress against approved schedules.
• Monitor site activities and report non-conformance issues through the project management team.
• Monitor site activities to identify and then implement possible efficiencies and gains to assist in project delivery
• Maintain daily records of works management, including incidents, progress, delays and the achievement of milestones. Ensure the Construction Superintendent is promptly informed of all relevant matters and developments associated with construction activities and site works management.
• Ensure that housekeeping around Construction works is maintained to a high standard
• Provide data for the tracking and reporting against schedule for all projects as per the requirements of the PM.
• Actively participates in works under area of control to ensure no impact on the critical path of the schedule.
• Provide data for the development and subsequent management of cost tracking of Construction Works as per direction of the PM.
• Ensure Contracts and/or Purchase Orders are in place and up to date with the correct approvals in place prior to work being undertaken.
• Ensure all works under area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end-users requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 + years Project Construction experience
• Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar relevant tertiary qualification)
• Expertise inSMP (structural, mechanical, piping)disciplines
  • Prior construction supervisory experience
  • Underground experience is not required, butconstruction experience is essential.
  • With Experience and knowledge on machine commissioning and testing in collaboration with electricalaspects.
• Formal training or Qualifications in MS Project desirable.
• Strong results orientation and ability to consistently deliver against theplan
• Excellent planning, organizing and prioritization capabilities
• This role requires regular physical activity, occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds, and the ability to work in amining environment with exposure to extreme temperatures andhumidity
• Must be amenable to 3 ‑year fixedterm
