Job summary

The Didipio mine in the Philippines, operated by OceanaGold, seeks a Senior Engineer – Electrical (Projects) to lead delivery of major site electrical projects from initiation to close-out. You will coordinate engineering, design and estimation inputs and drive project controls, timelines, and budgets on a fixed-term basis.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in project delivery within heavy industry, a Bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and a registered PRC license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in project delivery within heavy industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (required).
• Registered Electrical Engineer with a valid PRC license (required).
• Professional Electrical Engineer certification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Directly manage the delivery of a portfolio of major site electrical projects from initiation to close-out.
• Coordinate engineering, design and estimation inputs; prepare project management documentation.
• Identify and manage project risks; provide schedule and cost performance data to project controls.
• Ensure timely resolution of emerging risks and issues during project delivery and complete QA/QC and close-out docs.
• Maintain visible on-site presence by completing Critical Control Verifications with peers.
• Ensure design works use risk management tools (FRA’s, HAZOP’s, SIL Studies, etc.).
• Collaborate with Electrical/Mechanical/Project Engineers and Construction Coordinators.
• Prepare interface meetings with operational departments and ensure project interactions are managed.
• Maintain Quality Management Documentation (ITPs, FICs, FTRs) for all projects managed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper.Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support themine.

OceanaGold is seeking asuitably qualified, experienced, and reliableSenior Engineer – Electrical(Projects) to directly manage the delivery of aportfolio of major site electrical projects from initiation to close-out, including coordination of engineering, design and estimation inputs, preparation of project management documentation, identification and management of project risks, provision of schedule and cost performance data to project controls, timely resolution of emerging risks and issues during project delivery and completion of all quality control / assurance and project close-out documentation. This role will report to the Superintendent – ElectricalProjects.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Maintain avisible presence in the field whilst on-site by completing Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) with peers from the Project Development and Construction teams
• Ensure that design works for projects under management are carried out using the appropriate risk management tools including FRA’s, HAZOP’s, CHAZOP’s, SIL Studies, Design and Constructability Reviews
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Project Engineers, Construction Coordinators and other key stakeholders as required to clarify design requirements and solve designproblems
• Responsible for the preparation of project documentation for all phases of project delivery including Concept Studies, User Requirement Specifications (URS), Scope of Work (SoW) and Project Execution Plan (PEP)
• Responsible for ensuring that interface meetings are set up and carried out with operational departments to ensure interactions associated with projects under management are identified andmanaged
• Responsible for ensuring that projects under management are completed to the required specifications
• Ensure that all Quality Management Documentation is maintained for projects under management in accordance with the Quality Management Plan including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Field Inspection Checklists (FICs) and Field Test Record (FTR)documents
• Undertake aprogram of continuous improvement across all areas of accountability
