Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with a strong background in structural engineering to lead design, analysis and construction supervision for diverse infrastructure projects.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare calculations, drawings and reports, and review technical documentation while meeting project deadlines. Site visits may be required; experience in international projects is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Must be a licensed/registered Civil Engineer with a valid professional license.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design, analysis, and construction supervision.
• Experience in design and assessment of buildings, bridges, dams, or hydropower structures is an advantage.
• Familiar with SMEC’s standards and international codes; knowledge of local codes is also valued.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Strong writing and communication skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• International consultancy project experience is an advantage; willing to undertake site visits.

Job description

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization or strong background in Structural Engineering.
• Must be a licensed/registered Civil Engineer with a valid professional license.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design, analysis, and construction supervision, depending on the level of the position.
• Experience in the design and assessment of buildings, bridges, dams, hydropower structures, or other civil/structural infrastructure is an advantage.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design using relevant engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of applicable international and local structural design codes and standards.
• Ability to prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines.
• Experience in international engineering consultancy projects is an advantage.
• Willingness to undertake site visits and field assignments, as required.
• Familiarity with SMEC’s relevant technical standards, quality systems, and project procedures is an advantage.
