Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with 5–10 years of structural engineering experience to lead design, analysis, and on-site supervision for major infrastructure projects.

The role requires proficiency in structural software (STAAD.Pro/ETABS/SAP2000/SAFE) and solid knowledge of local and international codes, with strong communication and coordination skills for multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and licensed professional engineer.
• 5–10 years of structural engineering design, analysis, and supervision.
• Experience with buildings, bridges, dams or hydropower is a plus.
• Proficient in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000 or SAFE software.
• Knowledge of international and local codes and standards.
• Ability to prepare reviews of calculations, drawings and reports.
• Willingness to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Job Description

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization or strong background in Structural Engineering.
• Must be a licensed/registered Civil Engineer with a valid professional license.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design, analysis, and construction supervision, depending on the level of the position.
• Experience in the design and assessment of buildings, bridges, dams, hydropower structures, or other civil/structural infrastructure is an advantage.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design using relevant engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of applicable international and local structural design codes and standards.
• Ability to prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines.
• Experience in international engineering consultancy projects is an advantage.
• Willingness to undertake site visits and field assignments, as required.
• Familiarity with SMEC’s relevant technical standards, quality systems, and project procedures is an advantage.
