Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Manila. You will contribute to the design of facilities and structures, from conceptual to detail stages, and coordinate with construction activities to ensure quality and compliance.

Applicants should be licensed Civil/Structural Engineers with hands-on experience in concrete and steel design, and strong communication skills. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient projects.

Qualifications

• Licensed Civil/Structural Engineer is required.
• Knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, SAP, and RAPT design software.
• 3 years of experience as Structural Engineer with concrete/steel design expertise.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design facilities and structures under supervision, including conceptual, layout and detail work.
• Coordinate design and construction activities, including planning and analyses.
• Perform calculations for concrete and steel structural members and organize data for reports.
• Ensure drawings meet design codes, standards and quality requirements.
• Develop design criteria such as gravity loads, wind and seismic.
• Provide technical guidance to drafters and junior engineers.
• Understand how own discipline integrates with other disciplines.

• Responsible for daily tasks involved in design of facilities and structures.
• Under general supervision, perform all aspects of design which include performing actual design tasks (conceptual, layout, and detail) and/or coordinating design and construction activities, studying, planning, programming, and various analyses.
• Perform calculations for design of structural members of concrete and steel, and organize data required for reports.
• Thorough checking to ensure the details are within the design codes and requirements and the overall drawings should meet the acceptable quality standards.
• Develop design criteria such as gravity loads, wind and seismic.
• Vast knowledge of statics, strength of materials, finite element modeling, and building/structure systems.
• Able to provide technical guidance to drafters and less experienced engineers.
• Possesses thorough knowledge of multiple subject areas and other design disciplines, and understands how own discipline integrates with and impacts other disciplines.

Requirements

• Licensed Civil/Structural Engineer
• Knowledgeable in design softwares such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RAPT
• 3 years-experience as Structural Engineer with immense knowledge in design and detail of concrete and steel.
