Job summary

Planate Management Group Corp. is seeking a Licensed Civil/Structural Engineer to lead design and inspection for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects in the Philippines.

You will prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications to support project objectives and standards. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of structural design experience, mastery of AutoCAD, strong communication, and willingness to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and inspection work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects
• Interpret and adapt in traditional methods to develop design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications
• Responsible for construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews
• Develop cost estimates and time schedules, review preliminary and final designs
• Provide QA/QC work as needed
• Prepare correspondence, technical reports, and final construction drawings for bids
• Use AutoCAD and other software to perform engineering tasks
• Support divisions with scope, programming, and scheduling
• Provide quality assurance and mentor less experienced engineers

Job description

Key responsibilities:

• Perform design and inspection work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects
• Interpret and adapt in traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards
• Responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers
• Develop cost estimates and time schedules, review and analyze preliminary and final designs, plans, and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy
• Provide QA/QC work as needed
• Prepare necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets, and status reports and prepare final construction drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from Contractors
• Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications
• Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards
• Use computer-assisted engineering software (AutoCAD, coordination studies a load analysis) to perform engineering tasks as assigned.
• Support the different divisions with scope, programming, and scheduling definition
• Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects, and serve as a mentor to less experienced engineers in the division
• Can adapt to current and latest technical innovations in electrical engineering
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

• Licensed Civil/Structural Engineer; preference will be given to candidates holding a Master's Degree
• Must have a minimum of 7 years in structural design and field experience
• Experience and familiarity with Federal building design criteria and construction guide specifications is an advantage
• Willing to learn and adapt to various situations; multi-tasker.
• Adequate relevant training
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other Microsoft Office Applications
• Excellent oral and written communication and skills
• Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new technologies
• Possess a Philippine passport and a driver's License.
