Qualifications

About the role

Grandspan Development Corporation is seeking a Detailing Head to join our Engineering Drafting team in Binangonan, Rizal. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing the technical detailing operations of our engineering projects. As Detailing Head, you will be responsible for leading the detailing department, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, precision, and compliance with engineering specifications. This role is integral to our project delivery process and directly impacts the quality of our construction and development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead, supervise and manage the detailing team, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality technical drawings and specifications

2. Oversee the creation and review of detailed construction drawings, including architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical components

3. Ensure all detailing work complies with building codes, industry standards and client specifications

4. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues

5. Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure proper filing and organization of all detailing records

6. Conduct quality assurance checks on all detailing deliverables before submission to clients or construction teams

7. Develop and implement standardized detailing procedures and templates to improve efficiency and consistency

8. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior detailing staff, fostering their professional development

9. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance productivity

10. Manage detailing project schedules and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of documents

11. Liaise with construction teams on site to address detailing queries and clarifications

What we’re looking for

1. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in engineering drafting and detailing, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity

2. Specific experience in steel detailing is required

3. Advanced proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, particularly AutoCAD, and familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools

4. Strong knowledge of construction drawings, detailing standards and building codes relevant to the construction and development industry

5. Excellent understanding of structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical systems and their integration

6. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop team members effectively

7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all technical work

8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines

9. Proven project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

10. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently

11. Professional certifications in engineering drafting or related fields are advantageous

12. Experience in the local Philippine construction industry and familiarity with local building regulations and standards is preferred
