Job summary

Outsource Access is seeking a detail‑oriented structural engineer to design foundations and prepare CAD drawings for residential and commercial projects. You will work with architects and contractors to resolve issues before construction begins, ensuring compliance with ASCE 7 wind loads.

The role requires an EIT or PE (preferred), strong English/Spanish communication, and a proactive approach to documenting processes and workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in structural engineering with EIT or PE preferred.
• Fluent English and/or Spanish communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail within scope, budget, and timelines.

Responsibilities

How You’ll Make a Difference

Designing Safe Foundations: You will design conventional reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete slabs, steel structures, and foundations for both residential and commercial projects.

Translating Vision to Blueprint: You will prepare precise CAD structural drawings, including foundation plans, floor framing, reinforcing plans, and schedules for shear walls, columns, and beams.

Bridging the Gap: You will coordinate directly with architects and general contractors to discuss project conditions and resolve potential design conflicts before construction begins.

Driving Structural Compliance: You will review geotechnical soil reports for foundation design and execute accurate wind pressure calculations in accordance with ASCE 7.

Is This You?

The Detail-Obsessed Engineer: You hold a relevant degree (EIT or Professional Engineer preferred) and have strong attention to detail to work within defined project scopes, budgets, and timelines.

The Proactive Communicator: You possess fluent and professional English and/or Spanish communication skills and can actively submit preliminary drawings and final updates within strict 2-week turnaround windows.

The Process Builder: You are eager to adapt to technical requirements and help document your processes into a fully integrated playbook to continuously improve workflows.

Tech-Savvy: You possess strong, mandatory AutoCAD skills to interpret specifications and comprehensive knowledge of structural engineering software like SAFE, ETABS, ENERCALC, or Visual Analysis.
