Job summary

RELX International is seeking an Editorial Operations Effectiveness Manager to drive the operations strategy and execution for Editorial Operations, aligning with REPH, LexisNexis, and broader priorities. The role translates strategic objectives into a prioritized portfolio of process improvement, globalization, automation, and agile initiatives.

The Manager will work with SMEs, managers, and cross-functional partners to develop roadmaps, implement plans, and establish governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Agile Associate certification beneficial.
• CAPE Automation certification beneficial.
• 3–5 years minimum experience with LexisNexis platforms or equivalent, editorial content ops preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of process review, streamlining, globalization, automation, BPM, Agile, and transformation initiatives.
• Establish governance, reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication for the initiative portfolio.
• Monitor performance, track benefits post-deployment, and adjust strategy and roadmap.
• Mentor teams on continuous improvement projects (RIE, JDI, YB/GB, automation).
• Coordinate with Engineering/Technology on project status and resource allocation.

Job description

The Editorial Operations Effectiveness Manager is responsible for supporting the formulation and leading the execution of the operations effectiveness and strategy for Editorial Operations, in alignment with REPH, LexisNexis, and broader business priorities. The role translates strategic objectives into a prioritized portfolio of process improvement, globalization, automation, technology, Agile, and capability-building initiatives.

Working with SMEs, managers, leads, supervisors, Operations Leaders, and cross-functional partners, the Manager will:

• Support the development and periodic review of the annual and multi-year operations effectiveness strategy.
• Assess operational performance, stakeholder needs, emerging technologies, risks, and improvement opportunities to inform strategic priorities.
• Translate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps, business cases, implementation plans, performance measures, and resource requirements.
• Lead the execution of process review, streamlining, harmonization, globalization, automation, BPM, Agile, and other transformation initiatives.
• Establish appropriate governance, reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication mechanisms for the initiative portfolio.
• Facilitate prioritization and resource-allocation decisions across competing operational initiatives.
• Ensure ACT report analysis and action-planning requirements are completed by editorial teams and incorporated into improvement priorities.
• Monitor strategic and operational performance, track benefits after deployment, and recommend adjustments to the strategy and roadmap.
• Build continuous-improvement and strategic-execution capabilities across the organization.

Accountabilities

• Lead and facilitate innovation and process improvement through consultation with colleagues, answering questions, and encouraging team discussion
• Propose and present improvement projects using historical data backed-up with sizing and potential savings
• Lead a team in the initiating, planning, controlling, executing, and closing tasks of a project (or segment of a project)
• Assist in defining and monitoring project status related to key project goals
• Facilitate or attend meetings with Project Team to ensure all issues are reviewed, documented and assessed to minimize impacts and risks related to project timelines
• Work closely with the appropriate Engineering or Technology resource on the status of projects or initiatives
• Work with Operations Leaders to create communications plan for changes and improvements directly affecting REPH operations
• Monitor and report results after deployment of initiatives or projects
• Routinely review processes or workflows for streamlining and improvement
• Mentor or assist team members leading Continuous Improvement projects (RIE, JDI, YB/GB, automation)
• Address new, broad or recurring issues and provide detailed root cause analysis and action plans with follow through
• Recognize and address knowledge gaps and opportunities to build competence within the team and department
• Suggest enhancements on reports generation and presentation of data using Tableau or Microsoft Office tools
• Work with Operations leaders in monitoring team production and priority with focus on appropriate resource allocation
