We seek a dynamic Business Development Manager (Utility) to originate projects, manage partnerships, and support growth objectives from opportunity assessment to commercial closing.

The role requires 5–8 years in business development within renewables, strong commercial acumen, and excellent negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Energy Management, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in business development, project development, corporate development, or commercial functions.
• Proven experience in renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, power generation, or energy transition sectors.
• Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, hydro, transmission, or BESS projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of energy market regulations and project development lifecycle.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Experience in financial modelling and project evaluation.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong presentation and business communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Identify and originate utility-scale renewable energy opportunities across multiple technologies.
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, utilities, regulators, landowners, consultants, investors and partners.
• Lead project development activities from opportunity assessment through commercial closing.
• Conduct market research, feasibility studies, and competitor analysis.
• Evaluate project viability across technical, commercial, regulatory and financial aspects.
• Coordinate with engineering, legal, finance, and operations teams.
• Lead commercial negotiations for land agreements, PPAs and partnerships.
• Prepare business cases, investment papers and management presentations.
• Monitor policy developments affecting renewable energy markets.
• Support bid submissions, tenders, and renewable energy programs.
