Job summary

Orbia Advance Corporation seeks a lead employment law advisor for Mexico and Latin America. You will provide strategic legal counsel on complex labor matters, ensuring compliant policy implementation and risk mitigation.

You will partner with People Team and stakeholders, oversee investigations, and coordinate external counsel as needed. The role requires 8+ years in labor and employment law, fluency in English and Spanish, and a track record with regional/multinational environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or equivalent is required.
• Postgraduate degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in labor and employment law in regional/multinational setting.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and practical legal advice on labor matters across Mexico and Latin America.
• Advise People Team and leaders on hiring, performance management, employee relations, terminations, compensation, and union matters.
• Partner with investigations and internal functions to guide employment matters.
• Manage employment-related litigation and disputes with outside counsel and risk mitigation.
• Review and update policies, handbooks, procedures, and communication protocols for compliance.
• Monitor regional labor law developments and assess business impact.
• Develop and maintain template documents to increase consistency and efficiency.
• Act as a liaison with external counsel and monitor service quality and costs.
• Provide training on employment law topics and compliance expectations.
• Represent the function in cross-functional matters to support compliant business decisions across the region.
