Job summary

UCT in Cebu is seeking a Buyer II to join our sourcing and procurement team. The role focuses on buying, expediting and supplier management to ensure timely material delivery and quality compliance for weldment manufacturing.

You will leverage SAP/Oracle ERP tools, read weldment drawings, and drive cost reductions while maintaining material availability and inventory health in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read technical details on a weldment print.
• Experience with weldment manufacturing is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use ERP estimating systems such as SAP/Oracle; MS Excel, Word and Access.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases.
• Obtains materials using schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (Just in Time; EOQ).
• Creates and maintains bills of material in SCM or ERP systems.
• Ensures material standards are met and variances are approved.
• Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards for new contracts.
• Monitors cost, schedule and scope of subcontracts to assure best value.
• Responsible for buying, sourcing and expending materials locally and overseas.
• Ensure on-time delivery of materials and meeting quality requirements.
• Maintain and execute suppliers scorecard programs.
• Work toward inventory management, cost reduction, materials availability and quality management.
• Year-over-year cost reductions of materials.
• Evaluate supplier reliability when required.
