Job summary

UCT is seeking a talented Buyer III in the Philippines to plan, source, purchase, and expedit materials from approved local and international suppliers. The role ensures timely delivery and quality, while driving cost reductions and supplier performance initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years with a Bachelor's degree (Electrical/Mechanical) or 5+ years with a Diploma, knowledge of MRP, and experience in manufacturing. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Support materials availability, cost savings, and quality management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Buyer is responsible for planning, sourcing, purchasing, and expediting materials and commodities from approved local and international suppliers. Ensures timely delivery and compliance with quality requirements while negotiating pricing and commercial terms. Executes cost-reduction initiatives, manages supplier performance through scorecards, and supports objectives related to inventory control, cost savings, material availability, and quality management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, buying, sourcing and expediting materials, commodities from approved vendor lists both locally and overseas
• Ensure on-time delivery of materials from suppliers and meeting quality requirements
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers
• Maintain and execute suppliers scorecard programs
• Work towards achieving given objectives such as inventory management, cost reduction, materials availability and quality management
• Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

• At least 2 years working experience for Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
• At least 5 years working experience for Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
• Knowledge of MRP system will be advantageous
• Able to perform in fast paced environment; Preferably experience from an manufacturing environment
• Possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills.

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics/Industrial Systems Engineering
